What is ShareKit?

ShareKit lets you easily customize how your link will appear when sharing it on social media, without the need to get your IT team involved. You can edit the title, description and image.

Why do I need ShareKit?

To determine the sharing preview text, description and image, Facebook grabs something called "meta tags" from the page you're sharing. These are hard-coded into the page and can only be changed by the site's owner. ShareKit lets you edit the title, description, and image of the link preview, without having to change anything on the page itself.

Can't I simply change the meta tags on the page I'm sharing?

If you're sharing an external link (e.g. from a news site), you don't have any control over their meta tags. Even if it's your own company's page, changing meta tags is often time-consuming and involves multiple departments. Using ShareKit, you can instantly change the meta data, A/B test different versions for the same link, and even edit the meta data after sharing the link.

How does it work?

When using ShareKit, we'll provide you with a new link to share on social media. This link redirects to your original link, but you're able to customize the link's title, description, and image

Can I see how many times a link has been clicked?

Yes, we provide detailed analytics on each of the links you've created, accessible from your dashboard

Can I customize the ShareKit URL keyword?

Sure! You can choose your own keyword (e.g. shr.link/sample) instead of the default, randomly assigned URL. The keyword needs to be unique across ShareKit

Can I use my own domain?

Absolutely! On our "agency"-plan, you can use your existing domain (e.g. "share.yourcompany.com") for ShareKit

Isn't this against Facebook's terms?

Under Facebook's updated terms, you're still allowed to change link previews for sites that are under your control. To be on the safe side, use ShareKit only for links to your own website, blog, etc.
